Diego Forlan remains optimistic of an Inter Milan turnaround in Serie A.
The Uruguayan striker has declared himself as feeling fine, but admitted he is concerned about Inter’s poor form this season.
Forlan was brought to Milan from La Liga side Atletico Madrid over the summer being a straight replacement for Samuel Eto’o, who moved to Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia.
Things have not gone the Uruguayan´s way, having had a spell on the sidelines with injury and having to watch Inter drop down the Italian league to fourth from bottom.
Forlan spoke to the Milan clubs tv channel saying,
“I’m fine”,
“I can say that I’m doing well physically.
“I needed a rest, mentally to do this kind of work I missed in the last few months.”
He went on to talk about the Nerazzurri,s poor form,
“We are not not doing so well and we’ve had little bad luck.
“Against Juventus for example, we were playing well and they scored two goals on the break.
“The situation is a bit like everything is going wrong, but definitely better times will come.”
Forlan then talked about the progress with his injury rehabilitation.
“I feel fine and the physical work is going well too,” he said.
“I needed a bit of a rest psychologically and to do this sort of work, which I haven’t been able to do over the last few months.”
“As I said, I feel fine but there’s no date yet. I’m working well and working a lot.”
“I think I’ll do some tests next week and we’ll see how things are coming along. I’m training alone at the moment and that’s important to improve my fitness.”
The ex Atletico Madrid player, who joined Inter on a two-year contract, has scored one goal in five Serie A appearances.
