Thomas Muller believes Bayern Munich’s summer signings will give them the edge over Borussia Dortmund next season as the Bavarians look to reclaim the Bundesliga title.
Muller expects more next season
Dortmund easily won the league last season, finishing seven points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen with Bayern back in third, ten points behind Jurgen Klopp’s men.
That relative failure has prompted new signings, with Germany No. 1 Manuel Neuer moving to the Munich from Schalke along with former Schalke full-back Rafinha and striker Nils Petersen, who arrived from Energie Cottbus.
He told the Bild newspaper: “Of course we know Dortmund will be a serious competitor in the battle for the championship, but I am happy with our transfer policy and I am sure we will bring the trophy back to Munich in the upcoming season.
“It is proof of the quality of the squad that half the players in the national team will play for us. It is also an advantage for Germany that we can play together at Bayern.”
