Aguero Completes Record Man City Move
The Argentina international arrived in England on Wednesday to finalise the transfer.
Earlier on Thursday, Sergio Aguero had Tweeted: “I’m already a Manchester City player.
Happy to be in this club and this city.”
The move is a massive boost to City’s fortunes, potentially giving them four of the world’s top strikers to deploy and a signal that they are no longer merely “noisy neighbours” to giants and arch rivals Manchester United.
Sergio Aguero, who will wear number 16, told Manchester City’s official website: “I think we are a team that in future will be fighting every year to win major trophies.I’m sure I’m going to enjoy myself here and life will be fine.
“When we were talking I asked my agents to do everything they could because this was a good club and I’d always wanted to play in the Premier League. It felt right.”
He went on to say,
“I don’t think I’ll have too many problems settling into the team. I’ll obviously be doing my best to do what the manager asks and try to work the way he wants me to.”
When the question was posed about adjusting to life in England, he added: “Firstly I don’t like very hot weather so on that side of things I’ll be ok. I’m sure I’m going to enjoy myself here and life will be fine.”
Aguero is likely to be in the squad for this weekend’s Dublin Super Cup tournament.
Asked if his squad was now complete, Mancini told AFP: “No. I think we still need three or four players: a defender, one or two midfield creators and perhaps an attacker.
“Management and I are working on multiple tracks at the moment, but nothing is decided yet.
“All I hope is that future recruits will join the group as soon as possible.”
